RIDER INFORMATION
 
CAMPING GEAR:
  • Swag with adequate bedding
  • Tent or stretcher (Optional)
  • Mosquito repellent

HORSE FEED:
  • Horse feed adequate for morning, evening and lunchtime feeds (no hay or whole grain feed allowed)
  • Nose bag or bucket for feeding
  • Water bucket
​
TACK & EQUIPMENT:
  • Saddle & bridle
  • Saddle cloth & girth which won't rub
  • Saddle bag to hold a packed smoko with bottle holders or Camel Back, you'll need to carry approx. 1ltr of water whilst riding.
  • Grooming Kit
  • Halter
  • Spare set of reins/bridle
  • Hobbles
  • Fencing for your horse overnight

SECURING YOUR HORSE:
  • Your horse will need to have two forms of security overnight eg. hobbles and electric fence, or tethered and electric fence.
  • Your horse needs to be familiar with how they will be secured overnight. The national park is very large, your horse is your responsibility.

HORSE SHOEING:
  • All horses need to be shod as the terrain is rough and rocky in places.  
 
MEALS:
  • Please bring cutlery, plate, bowl, cup and tea towel clearly marked.
  • Some sponsored meals provided, see program for details.
  • Please see options below to best suit your requirements.
 
WHAT TO WEAR:
  • All U18’s must wear a helmet
  • Boots must have less than 3ml tred and not steal cap
  • All riders must wear a wide brimmed hat or helmet and long sleeve shirts/or sunscreen
  • Please ensure you have sunscreen applied each day.
 
PHONE RECEPTION:
  • There is no phone reception, please make adequate arrangements for the duration of the ride
  • Facilitators will have a sat phone, epirb and two-way uhf radio.
 
H4C MEET & GREET EVENT:
  • All Registered Riders are officially invited to attend the Welcome Dinner as part of your registration.
  • This is a public event and along with sponsors, partners, volunteers and support crew riders are our Guests of Honor receiving a complementary dinner ticket.

RIDER OPTIONS & REGISTRATION FEE: 

Cost per rider will be provided closer to the date release:

          Option 1. Self Sufficient Participant

BYO horse, horse feed, camping gear, tack & equipment, meals and support crew. 

Adventure trail, afternoon activities and shared meals provided. (see program)​

          Option 2. Supported Participant

BYO horse, horse feed, camping gear, tack and equipment.

Transportation of gear daily, adventure trail, afternoon activities and all meals supplied.

         Option 3. Everything Provided

Just bring yourself!

Horse and riding tack, camping gear, adventure trail, afternoon activities and all meals supplied. (you will need to supply details of riding competency so we can match you up with a horse)

         Option 4. Daily Ride

Join us at any time during the week to enjoy a day of horse riding, bring your horse and stay on to enjoy  afternoon activities, meals and o/n camping included. You will need to supply your own horse, camping gear and transportation to and from drop off/pick up point.

        Option 5. Half Week Ride

3 Days Camping - Sunday to Wednesday Morning or Tuesday Evening to Friday Afternoon. 

Meals, afternoon activities and o/n camping included. You will need to supply your own horse, camping gear and transportation to and from drop off/pick up point.
